Thinking For Nonprofits: Innovative Change Consulting Group Is The Difference Maker

Thinking For Nonprofits: Innovative Change Consulting Group Is The Difference Maker

Finding your calling in life doesn’t always come easy, but for the Founder of Innovative Change Consulting Group, LLC, Chelesa S. Holden, MSW it did. She set out on a mission to develop and assist nonprofits in their growth. This is how her passion for helping nonprofits, and journey to entrepreneurship, began.

WHO EXACTLY IS CHELESA S. HOLDEN, MSW?

Chelesa S. Holden, MSW always had a passion for helping others. This led to an interest in reforming the Criminal Justice System while also sparking curiosity in the field of Social Work. She saw a possible connection between the two disciplines and wanted to create change in some capacity. After earning a Bachelor of Science, Criminal Justice/Criminology in 2012 from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Chelesa went back to school for a Bachelor of Social Work in 2013. Quickly developing a passion for Social Work and the nonprofit sector, Chelesa ended her studies with a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, The Brown School in 2018.

Throughout her pursuit of multiple degrees, Chelesa worked as an employee and practicum student in various nonprofit organizations that were grassroots and startups, medium, and large. During this time, Holden gained new skills and knowledge while honing other abilities from her schooling. As time went on, and after holding multiple positions for local nonprofit organizations as a Board Chair (President), Board Co-Chair (Vice President), and Secretary, she began noticing gaps. Chelesa saw the raw ins and outs of challenges and barriers that small, medium and large nonprofits faced. Particularly, smaller nonprofits where family and friends served as volunteers and where members were lacking adequate knowledge or backgrounds in the field. They were missing opportunities such as increasing visibility, acquiring partnerships, receiving funding, and being sustainable. Founding her business, Innovative Change Consulting Group, LLC (ICCG), was a way for Holden to provide consulting services to nonprofits, while building a profitable business in her niche. ICCG is her way of creating a social impact. The services Holden provides are not only for organizations and the betterment of communities, she also genuinely enjoys working in these areas.
